I am Dr. Tracey Roberts Ramirez. Below you will find a short history of my own struggle with chronic pain and how I found my way to a better quality of life. My goal is to be able to help you find your way out of the chronic pain cycle too.
Basically, one day I could walk and was fully functional,
the next day my world changed.
I woke up with some pain and thought it was a little weird, but no big deal. I went on with the plans of the day. Nothing unusual, except that annoying pain started to spread up my spine. By the end of the day, I could not stand up straight, all the muscles in my entire back were in spasm and I had trouble walking.
Somehow I got myself to the E.R to see if they could find out what was happening... they said "basically, nothing is wrong." They sent me off with a bag of pills and said "good luck."
3 years later, there was still not a definitive diagnosis.
The choices were: Fibromyalgia, ME/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Anxiety, Chronic Myofascial Pain Syndrome, Auto Immune or numerous other options depending on the type of doctor.
The labels just kept coming and nothing was reducing the intense pain, fatigue or stigma.
All I knew was that my view of life was only the walls that surrounded me.
I was missing out on the BEST part of life.
I remember laying in bed and hearing the birds outside... I told myself that one day I would be able to walk to the park and see those birds for myself.
The best and worst doctor recommendation...
"This is your life now, learn to live with it."
Thankfully I was not ready to give in to the countless medications, endless doctor appointments, crazy intense pain or on life.
After many prayers and endless pleadings, ideas started forming in my mind of past encounters with movement specialists.
I told myself if I can't do a full version of the recommended movements, then maybe I can do a shorter, smaller, easier version.
That's how Myostretching was born.
I was laying flat on my back in bed, with all my special magnets, ointments, muscle technique tools etc... and I simply moved my arms slowly off the bed and back down. WHAT!?!
Yep, that's how it started.
One movement that did not create more pain.
One movement that did not increase any muscle cramps.
One movement that made my arms feel a lighter and stronger.
So the next day... I tried moving my arms 2 times... the next day 3 times... and then I started adding more movements in different regions of my body.
A VERY long story short....
Myostretching works!
Loooong story short... and many years later...
My 50th birthday was the best birthday of all.
I entered into the classroom for my first day of Chiropratic School!
This was a miracle for me.
My initial goal was to be able to walk outside and enjoy watching those birds that I could hear while laying in bed. Little did I know what path that decision would take me.
It took several years, lots of prayers, and many sacrifices to be able to reach this point in my life.
The time between being bedridden and now has been filled with many life altering accomplishments.
A few highlights:
Most of all... I ENJOY my life!
Myostretching allows me to control my systemic pain issues.
I am able to control the pain.....the pain does not control me.
~No Medications
~No dietary limitations
~No mind altering herbs or plants
My Mission is that you can have the same freedom.
"If you find a man(or woman) at the top of a mountain,
he didn't fall there."
Now I travel to as many places as possible.
Below are a some pictures of my adventures.
I hope you will share with me some of the pictures you take on your new adventures!
Join with me and add Myostretching to your life.
Myostretching does not cure any disease or condition.
The primary goals are to reduce tension and restrictions on the fascial system of the body and reeducate the neuromuscular system.
When tension is reduced, it allows for a better communication system within the cells, tissue, nerves, blood vessels and various other anatomical structures.
A daily program of Myostretching can help your body to function at a more optimal level and symptoms generated from fascial tension can reduce and allow you to live a life with less pain and more mobility.
